A Transitional Kitchen Built for Impact

This guest house kitchen design was created as part of an in-house project we were considering, but ultimately, the project was not pursued. The design features an efficient L-shape layout with a central island, optimized for both style and function. The cabinetry, in a soft green tone inspired by nature, is paired with walnut accents on the island and open shelving, adding warmth and texture to the space. The quartz countertops and white oak flooring, consistent with the rest of the house, tie the kitchen into the broader design of the home.

Inset shaker-style cabinets bring a timeless appeal, while modern touches like a linear suspension chandelier and recessed lighting add to the kitchen’s sleek, sophisticated feel. The design also incorporates a bump-out with recessed lights, contributing to the room’s expansive, open atmosphere, especially with the 20-foot ceilings.

Equipped with top-tier Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances, including a built-in fridge, steam oven, range top, and a wall oven tucked within the pantry cabinet, the kitchen was designed with efficiency and high-end functionality in mind. Though a dishwasher wasn’t finalized, a brand like Miele or Bosch was considered. Brushed brass and black fixtures add elegance, while the Delta faucet combines practicality with style.

Open shelving, lit to highlight the displays, offers a modern storage solution without compromising the clean aesthetic. This transitional kitchen, blending traditional and modern elements, embodies the vision we had for this guest house project—though it ultimately did not come to fruition.
