Front Porch

From Mismatched Paint to Polished Welcome

This front porch started with a painted concrete slab in a blue that was supposed to be gray—and didn’t match much else. The client wanted a clean, updated look, and trusted us to design the transformation.

We rebuilt the porch with gray composite decking and skirting, adding a lighter gray band for contrast. White composite railings with black metal balusters created a crisp, modern look, while a v-groove ceiling with crown moulding brought in subtle architectural detail. We boxed in the beams and wrapped the columns to give them a more substantial, craftsman-style profile—all painted white for a clean finish. The final touch: a new mahogany ¾ glass front door for warmth and curb appeal.

We slightly expanded the footprint to improve the structure, and the client was happy to have the extra space. While the design decisions were mostly left to us, the homeowner appreciated the final outcome—especially the contrast created by the white railings.

Not flashy. Just smart, well-executed updates that completely changed how the home feels from the street.
